What Causes Infertility?
It is a myth that the cause of infertility lies with women always. Infertility is found in men as well as women. With medical advancement, infertility treatment is available for couples who wish to have their own biological child. Before the treatment is initiated, the doctor will run the couple, through a range of investigations to understand the underlying cause of infertility. Once the cause/s identified, the line of treatment is worked, and the couple is advised accordingly.
Causes of infertility in women:
- Ovulatory dysfunction
- Endometriosis
- Advanced age
- Luteal phase defects

How does the doctor diagnose the cause of infertility?
Both men and women need to undergo all the tests and investigations to know where the problem lies. It could be one cause or multiple causes. Our infertility specialist will run a general physical examination of the couple, seek their medical history, and understand problems with sexual functioning, difficulty with ejaculation or small volume of fluid ejaculated, reduced sexual desire or difficulty in sustaining an erection (erectile dysfunctional), etc.
