From February 15 to 19, 2022, Dr Jugal Shah and his team attended a free eye surgery camp at Vatsalya Gram in Vrindavan (Mathura). Dr Jugal Shah operated on 302 patients with cataracts and other eye-related ailments.

2021



On December 10 &11, 2021, Dr Jugal Shah operated on 100 + cataract patients free of cost at a camp organised by Kamlaben Babulal Charitable Trust in Vrindavan (Mathura). This Trust regularly organises eye camps for the poor and needy and Dr Jugal Shah is on the panel of eye surgeons who attend the camp.

2019



On doctor’s day, we continued to serve our patients by organizing a free screening eye check-up. Over 152 patients, braving heavy rains, attended and got their eyes checked. 33 patients were provided free specs as per their vision requirements. In this camp, 35 participants were detected with cataracts, who have been offered free cataract surgery. 8 patients will be provided free treatment for diabetic retinopathy, and 3 for glaucoma. 31 children detected with vision problems were given free specs.

Another successful free screening eye camp in collaboration with Moldex Composites Pvt. Ltd took place at Utkarsh Municipal School, Malad(W) on July 12, 2019. Out of the 458 students screened, 82 were detected with vision problems and were provided free spectacles.




We regularly offer our professional expertise in Vatsalyagram, Vrindavan (UP). During this camp, varjwasi were screened for various eye problems. 138 patients got free eye surgery in this camp. Some of these were complicated cases and a few had only one eye, so risky cases. The patients got a new life with improvement in their vision.




On Feb 10, 2019 free screening eye camp was organised in Satara (Mah) sponsored by Hitech Corporation Ltd. 253 Patients were screened, 128 free Spectacles distributed, and free Medicines were given to the needy. 36 people were detected with cataracts and have been offered free cataract surgery, to be conducted in the coming week.




Under the aegis of Jagvallabh Parasnath Derasar, Malad, we organised a free eye check-up camp for the Jain sadhus and sadhvis. Those detected with vision issues were given medicines and spectacles. Those who required surgery were called to the hospital for LASER treatment and other diagnostics tests. It was a proud moment for Maa staff to be able to help these monks.

2018



On October 7, 2018, Maa team conducted a free eye checkup camp in South Mumbai. Around 160 spectacles were distributed, 30 patients signed up for free cataract surgeries, 5 patients registered for glaucoma and retinopathy treatment. Mrs Ina and Mr Ashwin Dani, supported the event under the banner of "Yoga"




A Mega Diagnostics camp on Sept 30, 2018, in the hospital witnessed over 186 attendees. Through check-up revealed eye disease in many of the participants. 42 cataracts detected, who got registered for surgeries. These patients will be operated on with the advanced LASER phaco technique at concessional rates or free, depending on their economic conditions. 93 patients were provided spectacles free of cost.




On Akshay Tritiya (April 18, 2018), Maa team organized an eye check-up camp for the Jain sadhus in Derasar, located at Mamlatdar wadi, Malad(W). Spectacles, medicines were distributed and those needing surgery were registered for free eye surgery in the hospital.




Our regular free eye camps aim at reaching out to the poor and needy who cannot afford treatment. They suffer in silence and end up losing their vision. Most cases of blindness are preventable with timely quality treatment. We have a mission to treat such patients and prevent vision loss. On February 11, 2018, Maa team organized another free eye check-up camp, where 253 people were screened. We diagnosed 67 cataracts, 12 glaucoma cases, and 31 patients with diabetic retinopathy. 82 spectacles were distributed free of cost.33 patients have been operated on while the others will be operated on in the coming weeks.




Dr Jugal Shah checked the eyes of Kuvarba, a 102-year-old woman in the remote village of Bhojay, Kutch. She was suffering from bilateral (Both eyes) cataracts for the last 2-3 years and had almost lost vision. It was a tricky case, given her age. Dr Jugal Shah gave her a new lease of life with a successful cataract surgery of her left eye. She can see well now and was surprised to see how tall her great-granddaughter had grown. It was years since she ate on her own. It was the best new year’s gift.




Another camp under the aegis of Vatsalya Gram, to detect cataracts in the rural folks of Vrindavan (UP). Dr Jugal Shah along with his team performed 345 cataract surgeries with the latest No injection- No pad, LASER Phaco Technique.




Continuing with our mission to eradicate blindness by providing quality eye care to all sections of society, Dr Jugal Shah and Maa team with Bidada Sarvodaya Hospital in Kutch, performed free eye surgeries on the underprivileged villagers who did not have access to eye care. Over 102 villagers got free cataract eye surgeries done with the latest LASER phaco technique.

2017



Maa Charitable Trust in collaboration with Mr Malay Dani (Hi-Tech Plast Ltd.) proudly announces the accomplishment of another major charitable activity in the remote village of Pune (Jama Masjid, Kharadwadi, Pimpri) on 18th June 2017. Our team screened 305 patients with common eye problems like cataracts, glaucoma, squint etc. We diagnosed 22 cataract patients and 2 squint patients who will be operated on at our hospital.
